Once everyone arrives, the host sets the story in motion. From there, secrets start slipping, clues appear, accusations fly and the drama takes on a life of its own. Players have objectives to guide them, but no script to follow, so the night feels spontaneous, chaotic and completely your own.

2. INVITE YOUR SUSPECTS

Choose who plays who and send out the invitations. From that moment on, your friends are no longer your friends; they’re people with secrets, motives and a suspicious amount to hide.

Hi, I’m Melisa,

the person behind Whodunit Games.

I’ve always loved mysteries, creating stories and bringing people together around a table. There’s something very fun about watching a group of friends slowly become suspicious of each other, argue over tiny details and become completely invested in a story for one evening.

After finishing my PhD, I decided to turn that love into something of my own and started creating murder mystery games.

My PhD didn’t make me love mysteries, but it definitely helped with the way I create them. Years of research trained me to be very detail-oriented, question whether things actually make sense and notice when one tiny piece doesn’t quite fit. Which is surprisingly useful when you’re building clues, timelines and secrets.

The creative part is what I love most: coming up with the story, building the characters, designing the clues and imagining how everything will unfold around a table.

I write and design every Whodunit Games mystery myself, then test it on very patient friends, change far too many things, test it again and eventually turn it into a game you can print and play at home.

I hope these games give you a reason to gather your favourite people around a table, get completely carried away by a mystery, and have a really good night together.
